A certain man identified as Biobelemoye David is said to have walked out of his marriage ceremony in Imo State over incessant demands from the bride’s family.
David had paid #1,500,000 to cater for food, tents, chairs, and a public address system. He had set aside #100,000 as the bride price that both families had agreed on.
And an additional #50,000 to the bride’s price because he had already impregnated the girl.
The groom also incurred a fine of #10,000 for making a detour to the wrong path and ended up in another home other than the girl’s home.
In sequence to that, he was asked to pay a fine of #15,000 to appease the elders who had become tired of waiting for him.
Another drama came up when twelve girls were covered in loose robes from head to toe and he was asked to guess who his fiancee was from the group of girls. David pointed at the wrong woman and earned a fine of#15,000.
The climax of the moment was when the elders demanded a refund totaling #850,000 to cover her tuition feed since primary school.
This time, the groom excused himself to visit a nearby latrine from which he became unreachable. He switched off his phone and was last seen on a bus heading to Bayelsa from Imo State.
