A 27-year-old woman from the city of Birmingham, England has been arrested and put in police custody after two suitcases containing human remains were discovered near a quarry at her residence in Gloucestershire.

The woman who identified herself as Ms Gareeca Conita Gordon, was said to have killed the unidentified woman between 14 April and 12 May at her home in Birmingham.

She was apprehended shortly after a member of the public told police that a car was driving erratically in the Forest of Dean on Tuesday evening.

Meanwhile, the district Police are yet to ascertain the identity of the body in the bag, as the post-mortem examination conducted was inconclusive.

Ms Gordon will remain in police custody until the day of her hearing. According to Catherine Jones, a prosecuting lawyer, based on the nature of the charge, she “will be proceeding to the crown court with no bail.”

District Judge Joti Bopa-Rai disclosed that Ms Gordon would appear before Gloucester Crown Court on 19 May. Only then will she have the opportunity to apply for bail.
