Sleep is an important part of every human  It’s a time to rest from the day’s hurdles and keep the mind at rest. Adequate sleep keeps you refreshed and ready for the day’s work.

However, some people do not enjoy the benefits that come with quality sleep because they find it difficult to do so.

Here are ways to make yourself sleep even when you can’t sleep.

1. Listen to relaxing music

Music can help improve the quality of sleep. It can even help you improve chronic sleep disorders. Soft and soothing music is good for the mind and soul. Then if relaxing music can’t help, you could block all noise to help you fall asleep faster and promote uninterrupted sleep.

 

2. Stay away from electronics

Electronics can distract you from sleeping. It keeps your mind active and in an engaged state. Even if you are to use a device before you sleep, consider using blue light glasses or a screen filter.

 

3. Shift your sleep position

Sleeping positions can improve your sleep or reduce your sleep quality. Good quality sleep may depend on your position during the night. The three main sleeping positions are: the back, stomach, and side. And it is believed that back sleepers had better quality sleep.

4. Focus on trying to stay awake

It is believed that if you go to bed trying to force yourself to sleep, your chances of falling asleep become low. Trying to force yourself to sleep might stir anxiety which prevents you from falling asleep.

 

5. Use imagery distraction 

With imagery distraction, you visualize things that make you happy. People are believed to fall asleep faster after they try to focus on an environment that makes them calm and peaceful.
