At least 50 protesters have so far been arrested in the #RevolutionNow protest in Abuja by military personnel deployed by the government to patrol different parts of the city.
On 5 August 2020, Protesters in Abuja, Lagos and other parts of the country has planned a nationwide revolution protest tagged ‘Days of Rage’ to demand a better Nigeria.
According to reports from local media, protesters numbering about 50 who were coming from the Mararaba axis, were arrested around the Unity Fountain and thrown into at least six trucks that whisked them away to an unknown destination.
Reports also has it that DSS and other security agents are conducting a stop and search exercise in that route, in a bid to fish out and arrests other persons participating in the protest.
Over 50 vehicles loaded with heavily-armed security where also sighted around the city of Abuja and it’s environ.

The arrest has elicited a wide range of condemnation on social media with people accusing the government of seeking to stifle dissent and the right to peaceful protest.
