Ex-Miss France, Sonia Rolland has been charged over alleged fraudulent wealth by Omar Bongo, Gabon former ruler.
The beauty queen has been charged with embezzlement of public funds for accepting an apartment worth 800,000 Euros ($752,000) from Bongo in the 16th Arrondissement of Paris 2003.
Sonia Rolland’s Lawyer, Charles More told newsmen that the beauty queen was 22 year old the time and had “obviously recognized that she was naive but contests any wrongdoing.

French Prosecutors also charged four of Omar Bongo’s Children with embezzlement and corruption on suspicion that they benefitted from an ill-gotten wealth with full knowledge of the source.
French Daily Liberation, reported to investigators last year that the apartment was given for her participation of Miss contest in Africa.
Her lawyer went further to State that his client was 22 year-old when she was thrown into a world she knew nothing about. In her defense, he stated that she did not know the sources of the funds nor finances.
