Neymar Jr.’s father has been taken into custody after engaging in unauthorized construction activities on his son’s property in Rio de Janeiro.
This arrest was part of a coordinated effort by the local Mangaratiba Municipal Environment Department, in collaboration with the Environmental Military Police and the agents of the municipality’s Environmental Protection Group. Prior to his arrest, Neymar Da Silva Santos had apparently been involved in a heated argument with Shayenne Barreto, the secretary of the environment in Mangaratiba.
As per information from Brazilian news outlet UOL Sport, Neymar Sr. was eventually released, but he was cautioned by authorities that those responsible for the construction work required better knowledge and understanding of the regulations. The whole incident was triggered by a complaint about an environmental violation, which was subsequently reported to the Mangaratiba City Hall. This complaint stemmed from a video Neymar Jr. had posted on Instagram, revealing the construction of an artificial lake on his property.
It is worth noting that Neymar Jr., a prominent player for Paris Saint-Germain, was not directly involved in the illegal construction or the subsequent arrest of his father. However, the incident highlights the importance of adhering to environmental regulations and the need for proper education and awareness among those undertaking construction projects. By sharing the video on social media, Neymar Jr. unintentionally brought attention to the unauthorized activities taking place on his property, leading to the subsequent investigation and arrest.
