The planned transfer of Hakim Ziyech to Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr has fallen through due to concerns about a knee problem discovered during his medical examination. The £8 million move, which would have allowed Ziyech to join forces with Cristiano Ronaldo, is now highly unlikely to be revived. As a result, Ziyech’s future with Chelsea has become uncertain, despite the club’s desire to see him leave.
This unsuccessful transfer marks Ziyech’s second failed attempt to leave Stamford Bridge, with a potential loan move to PSG in January also collapsing due to incomplete paperwork before the deadline. Ziyech, who was acquired by Chelsea from Ajax for £33 million in 2020, made 24 appearances last season, but most of them were as a substitute.
Despite still having two years remaining on his contract, Ziyech’s time with Chelsea has been disappointing so far.
