Super Eagles legend Nwankwo Kanu has taken to social media to clear the air on why he accompanied some ex-internationals to Bola Tinubu’s resident.
Rumors have been spreading that some Super Eagles legends including Kanu Nwankwo were bribed to support Tinubu’s presidential ambition after they were spotted in a viral video with the former Lagos State governor.
Kanu however made it known that he’s not a politician and that they were only invited for Tinubu’s 70th birthday celebration and for a novelty football match. He also revealed that Tinubu was one of the three governors that provided financial assistance to his heart foundation and that he only paid homage to him.

He assured his fans that his heart beats for Nigeria and he encouraged everyone to get their voters card ready so as to vote for the right person.
Kanu wrote:
“My country people
Yea you know what it is. I’ve been hearing some fake news going around. If you know me well enough to know my heart beats for Nigeria.”
“Ex gov of lagos is turning 70 and we were invited for a birthday celebration & novelty football match. Be kind enough to stop spreading alternative news and let’s stick with the facts. Also get your PVC ready to vote 2023. One love #nigeria.”
