People sometimes may use certain expressions that appears friendly, but deep down, they are “insulting compliments” and it will only take a wise person to realise that.

At first, the Journalist wanted to know if people actually read books in Nigeria, so she cunningly asked her: “Do people read your book in Nigeria?” Chimamanda replied: “They do shockingly.”

Knowing what her true intentions are, Chimamanda responded: “I think it reflects very poorly on French people that you have to ask me that question.”
