19-year-old Favour Ofili made her first historic 200 meters, on Friday night at the Tim Jones invitational in Gainsville, Florida.
She broke the record by posting a time of 21.96 seconds to become Africa’s second woman to go under 22 seconds after Blessing Okagbare who clocked 22.04 seconds in 2018.

Her finishing time has been recorded as the fastest in the world this year and the fastest ever in NCAA.
Her win has also cleared the old collegiate mark of 20.02 seconds set by Florida’s Kyra Jefferson at the 2017 NCAF championship.
Favour Ofili has been named a female athlete for the meet at the 2019 African U18 & U20 championship in athletes.
