Recently, the Delta born athlete, Ese Brume won Nigeria’s first medal at Tokyo Olympics.
She has been active in sports since 2008, while still in secondary school when she represented her state at the National school Sports festival (NSSF). Where she came second in leg jump.
2012- First emerged in National level at the Nigerian Athletes championship.
2013- African Junior Athletes championship: Long jump title, silver in the triple jump and part of Nigeria’s winning in the 4×100 relay team.
2014- represented Nigeria at commonwealth games.
2015- participated in African Junior Athletes championship
2016- participated in the Rio Olympics long jump final as the best athlete in her pool.
2018- became double Turkish universities champion at the Turkey Koc first university sports game, representing her university “Eastern Mediterranean University”.
2018- represented Africa at Ostava continental city.
2019- only Nigerian nominee in the star of award in Africa sportswoman of the year category.
2019- African games champion in long jump.
Some of her personal best include;
100 meters completed in 11.41 seconds
Long jump of 7.17 metres
Triple jump of 13.16 metres.
Ese Brume was born 20th January 1996 and is coached by Yahaya Kayode and Hasan.
