Following the funeral rites of the former CEO of Access Bank–Herbert Wigwe, his wife and his son; their bodies have arrived their hometown, Isiokpo, Ikwere Local Government Area in Rivers State for the final burial rites. As people mournfully gathered in front of Ikwerre Local Government headquarters to show their last respect and bid him farewell.
Herbert Wigwe and family lost their lives in a drastic air crash on 9 February 2024 in the United States on his way to attend the Sunday’s Super Bowl LVIII championship in Las Vegas.
Wigwe started his career at Coopers & Lybrand and Guaranty Trust Bank before joining Access Bank in 2002 as the company’s deputy managing director. He became the chief executive officer of the company in January 2014.
