The 28-year-old Brazilian enjoyed one of the most successful times in his career while playing alongside the Argentine in Catalonia. He also shared a very special relationship with Messi both on and off the pitch.
Neymar is rooting for that to happen again next season following his post game comments after their 3-1 Champions League victory over Manchester United on Wednesday.
NBC Sports reported Neymar’s statement below:
“What I want most is to play with [Messi] again, to be able to enjoy being on the pitch with him again. He could play in my place. He won’t have any problems, I’m sure. I want to play with him again and I’m sure that, next season, we have to do it.”

It is yet to be understood if Messi would leave Barcelona to reunite with Neymar or the other way round.
Meanwhile, Neymar who scored two goals that helped PSG avoid an automatic place in the Europa League also said that he didn’t join the club to play in the Europa League.
“I’ve never seen myself knocked out of the Champions League or playing the Europa League. It never went through my head and it won’t,” Neymar said. “With these difficulties, I managed to grow up, to take responsibility. I did not come here to play the Europa League.”
