Barcelona stars dedicate an emotional video in honour of Lionel Messi (watch)

Barcelona players past and present have dedicated an emotional video in honour of their legendary Argentine forward Lionel Messi.

The six time ballon d’Or winner equalled Xavi Hernandez’s long standing record of the highest number of appearances for Barça in the La Liga match against Huesca on Monday March 15, 2021.

That game was Messi’s 767th game in Barcelona colours, the same number of games their legendary midfielder Xavi played before exiting the club.

Catalan faithfuls believes that no other players deserves such record more than their very best player. Hence, a host of Barcelona players past and present reunited in an emotional video and paid tribute to Lionel Messi.

Among those players were Andres Iniesta, Xavi, Hernandez, Neymar, Ronaldinho, Deco, Puyol, Luis Suarez, Pique, Dani Alves, Pedro, and many others.

Meanwhile, Messi scored a brace and provided an assist in Barcelona’s 4-1 victory over Huesca
