Chelsea Women suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of a more determined Barcelona Femeni in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final on Sunday evening.
Having won the English Women Super League title under Emma Hayes. The blue ladies came with much enthusiasm not minding the fact they are facing a different and stronger opponent like Barcelona.
The Catalan ladies have been very impressive this season, they are yet to taste defeat in the Spanish league, which they recently won.

Barcelona dominated entire duration of the game, creating many chances and leaving their opponents with no space at all. They scored 4 goals just before the end of the first half, courtesy of an own goal by Melanie Leupolz, a penalty by Alexia Putellas Segura and one goal each by Bonmatí and Graham Hansen.
With a four goal lead, Barcelona Femeni were already sure of victory, all they had to do was to play till the final whistle.
Meanwhile, Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala made history to become the very first African Women footballer to win the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Interestingly it was Barcelona Femeni’s maiden Champions League trophy. Congrats!!!
