Napoli’s outcast Victor Osimhen turned down an offer to play for Chelsea despite persistent efforts by the Blues camp to sign the Super Eagles forward.
Several reports has it that Galatasaray have reached an agreement in principle with Napoli over loan deal for Victor Osimhen. A one year loan, with his salary covered as Napoli in full.
The agreement between Osimhen and Galatasaray has got some fans wondering why he couldn’t accept Chelsea’s offer and a chance to play in the English Premier League. Here could have been five reasons why Osimhen to Gala was more preferable than to Chelsea:

1. Galatasaray have more pedigree than Chelsea:
Galatasaray are currently among the best teams in the Turkish League. That’s not the case with the current Chelsea team who are still struggling to find their rhythm in the Premier League for some years now.
2. Galatasaray are in the Europa League:
The Turkish giants are competing in a better European League while Chelsea are somewhere around Europe playing in a less fancied Conference League.
3. Galatasaray will at least match his current wages:
Part of the bone of contention in Victor Osimhen’s transfer is his wage. For obvious reasons he prefers not to accept a much lower wage to join any European team. Chelsea offered Osimhen a trainee’s wage. But Galatasaray offered to pay his wage in full.
4. Much lesser tax in Turkey:
Osimhen will not have to pay a much heavier task while playing for a lesser wage in England. English tax are generally higher compared to several countries of the world. But in Turkey, he’ll save extra income for himself.
5. Galatasaray are competing for the league:
Chelsea are playing to stay in the English Premier League. They don’t look like a team competing for a trophy at the moment, because they are still a work in progress. Galatasaray on the other hand are competing for the Turkish League. Also, with their current squad depth, they have a better chance in the Europa League.
