Lucile Randon who was recorded as the world’s oldest person in April 2022, has reportedly died.
Lucile was born in 1904 and took the name Sister Andre when she joined a Catholic charitable order in 1944.
She died in the early hours of Tuesday morning at her retirement home in France and had worked in several hospitals until she retired from a full-time job in 1979.
The nun’s Spokesperson, David Tavella, said she died on Tuesday at 2 a.m. local time and lived near Toulon.
“There is great sadness, but she wanted it to happen, she desired to join her beloved brother. For her, it is freedom,” Tavella added.
The French nun had received a handwritten birthday note from French President- Emmanuel Macron, the 18th French President of her lifetime.
During her time, there have been 10 different popes processing the Catholic church.

She became the world’s eldest following the death of Kane Tanaka, a Japanese woman who was previously certified as the world’s oldest person, who died at the age of 119 on April 19, 2022.
Then, following the news of her death, the world’s oldest person is now 115-year-old María Branyas Morera who lives in Spain.
Lucile Randon dedicated her life to religious service.
Before becoming a Catholic nun, she looked after children during World War II and then spent 28 years caring for orphans and elderly people at a hospital.
She is also reported to be the oldest nun that ever lived according to the Guinness world record.
