Ifayẹmi Ẹlẹbuibọn, the high chief of late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has urged suitors who are interested in marrying the late king’s wives to be patient until the next king arrives.
He made it known that the new monarch has the liberty to take those women as his wives if he so desires. But if the women are not interested, they are free to leave provided they complete all the necessary rites.
And for those asking, the late Alaafin of Oyo has 13 wives. His first wife was Ayaba Abibat Adeyemi, and she was the popular one because he was always seen with her at several functions. Anytime he fails to go functions with her, he rotates it among their other junior wife.
