As the tension between the niger republic  coup plotters and ECOWAS continue to heightened, a viral video circulating on social media has raised fears in the minds of Nigeriens.

On 27th July, coup plotters Led by Colonel-Major Amadou Abdramane, announced on national TV they they had carried out a coup, they also closed all West African borders.

With this, Niger becomes the sixth country in the West Africa subregion to experience a coup since August 2020.
