On Thursday, Nigerian troops, in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force, effectively neutralized six terrorists and apprehended one individual alive during a clearance operation in the northern part of Borno State. The operation unfolded as the troops ambushed a group of terrorists who were transporting significant amounts of supplies en route to Sambisa Forest, along the Molai-Damboa Road.
Zagazola Makama, an expert in counter-insurgency and a security analyst in the Lake Chad region, confirmed the event. According to him, the troops executed a successful interception of the terrorists, resulting in the immediate demise of six assailants and the capture of one, while the remaining insurgents managed to flee the scene. Among the items retrieved by the troops were AK47 rifles, numerous bicycles, and substantial quantities of supplies.
Molai, situated approximately 10 kilometers away from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, is a periphery area. The operation showcases the coordinated efforts of Nigerian troops and the Civilian Joint Task Force in combating terrorism, safeguarding the region, and impeding the activities of insurgent groups.
