New details have emerged about the tragic incident involving 32-year-old banker Amarachi Ugochukwu, who was found dead in her workplace restroom after consuming insecticide. On January 8, within the premises of a bank in Ikorodu, where she was employed, Ugochukwu reportedly took her own life at around 1 pm.
A suicide note discovered beside her body revealed her distress over the challenging economic conditions in the country. In the note, she expressed despair about her low financial status, clouded mind, and the increasing hardships in the economy.
A Facebook user, Folusho Adebisi, mourned Ugochukwu online, describing her as a friendly and hardworking individual who, in addition to her banking job, was involved in the demanding business of shoemaking. Adebisi shared his connection with the deceased, highlighting how she had patronized his son’s footwear business, Donetsk Footwear Limited. He emphasized her resilience, juggling both the stressful roles of a banker and a cobbler.
