Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has placed a two-week, 24-hour curfew in the Obio Akpor local government area of Rivers state.
Following reported cases of incessant cult activities by some youths, the Rivers state governor enforced the curfew and it is expected that it will be effective from Monday 23 November.
The Governor who revealed that after a meeting of the State Security Council, the decision became imperative, also confirmed that all forms of trade and vehicular movement around the flyover are also prohibited. He also mandated security forces to execute defaulters of the curfew and arrest.

Again, we want to warn that community leaders who encourage their communities to prosper unabated in cultism and related practices will be regarded as collaborators of the resulting crimes and dealt with accordingly.
