Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, the spouse of President Bola Tinibu, officially begin her role as Nigeria’s First Lady on Monday in Abuja.
Accompanied by her security personnel, Mrs. Tinubu arrived at the First Lady’s wing where she was warmly received by Mr. Tijjani Umar, the Permanent Secretary of the State House, along with other heads of units in the First Lady’s Office.
During her visit, Mrs. Tinubu was guided on a tour of various offices within the First Lady’s wing, including the Administrative, ICT, Catering, Media, and Protocol Units.
Born on September 21, 1960, Mrs. Tinubu has a mixed heritage, with her mother being of Itsekiri origin and her father being Yoruba. She obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Ife and has pursued additional courses in various higher institutions.
Previously, Mrs. Tinubu served as the wife of the Lagos State Governor from 1999 to 2007, and later went on to become a Senator representing Lagos Central in the Senate.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Tinubu has actively engaged in philanthropic endeavors to support and uplift vulnerable individuals in her constituency.
