Ondo First Lady, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, an indigene of Imo State had led her supporters to the Secretariat to Protest against the consensus option adopted by the party in choosing its candidate for the election.
The Governor’s wife is contesting in the APC primary election for the Senatorial position of Imo West Constituency.
Daily Trust reports that confusion escalated when her supporters exhibited their dissatisfaction concerning the party’s decision, insisting that they must be allowed to vote.

The scenario proceeded into a stampede as Journalists and Delegates scampered for safety.
However, Akeredolu insisted that they should go by delegate election, stating that she cannot waste money on resources and time campaigning only to be told that candidates would emerge by consensus.
