Nnamdi Kanu And IPOB Are The Reason For My Downfall – Abba Kyari
Drug dealing suspended police officer Abba Kyari has allegedly blamed the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) for his downfall.
The organizations have as their leader Nnamdi Kanu, who is currently standing trial for alleged terrorism.
Kyari too is presently in the custody of Nigeria’s anti-narcotics agency for stealing and tampering with cocaine exhibits.
According to a report, Kyari during investigation, led by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Joseph Egbunike, blamed the separatist organisation and its armed wing for his travails.
He was said to have claimed that the outlawed organisations threatened to destroy him due to the onslaught he led against them.
The probe panel, the report said, did not accept Kyari’s excuse while it recommended that he be demoted from the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police.
