On Friday, 22nd April 2022, a federal high court in Abuja ordered Yakubu Dogara, ex-speaker, House of Representatives to vacate his seat.
Yakubu Dogara was ordered to quit from being the member representing Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro federal constituencies in Bauchi State.
Justice Donatus Okorowo during delivering the judgement said that since Yakubu Dogara has defected from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC), he was no longer qualified to occupy a seat just as stipulated in section 68(1)(g) of the constitution.
