When all this was going on, the lawmakers was very frightened and was locked up in the safe side of the building as Trump loyalists continue to break into offices at the Capitol.
National Guard and other security operatives were immediately deployed to the scene and with their help sanity was restored in the Capitol.

Despite the unrest at the Capitol, Congress reconvened the joint session to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s win.
“As we reconvene in this chamber, the world will again witness the resilience and strength of our democracy,” said Vice President Mike Pence.
Democracy – the right of people to exercise a vote, have their voice heard and then have that decision upheld peacefully should never be undone by a mob.
What happened in the Capitol Hills on Wednesday is very ‘Disgraceful’ because the United States stands for democracy around the world and it is now vital that there should be a peaceful and orderly transfer of power.
