Ahead of APC Primaries, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has released a list of the screened and qualified aspirants who would take part in the APC primaries in bid to select the party’s flag bearer.
He stated on Friday in Abuja that the aspirants were engaged on the issue of Consensus and 98-99 percent of them were willing to go by the decision of the party.
On speaking on the cleared aspirants ahead of APC Primaries, he explained that the committee’s report was in two aspects; the basic constitutional qualification to aspire to be a president of the country, and the ability to lead and background of the aspirants.
On this, he stated that all aspirants for APC Primaries have the constitutional basic requirements and were qualified based on that.
At that, the critical situation becomes the ability of the aspirants to lead, their background, experience and understanding of Nigerian situation.
How their ideas on how difficult issues and problems could be addressed ans how they could move the country forward became a vital consideration at the screening.
According to the APC Chairman, “It is on that basis that who you are, what are you, and what you have achieved.”‘
Odigie-Oyegun stated that the understanding of their mission and want they think they can do to move the country forward made the final list of the APC primaries.
