Senator Aishatu Binani has made history as she becomes the first woman to become the first woman to win Governorship nomination of a major political party in the State.
She defeated 5 men at the just concluded APC Governorship primaries in Adamawa State.
Binani is a serving senator representing Adamawa Central Constituency.
Others who contested the position with Binani include, the immediate past Governor of the State, Jibrilla Bindo, Umar Mustapha, Wafari Theman, and Abdulrazak Namdas.
Binani had 230 votes while her closet opponent had 103, and others had 94, 39 & 21 respectively.
The APC primaries was held at Lamido Cinema in Yola, the State Capital.
