Abba Kyari, the trusted chief of staff to Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari has died from complications related to Covid-19 after a nearly month-long battle with the virus, his death was announced early Saturday morning.
Abba Kyari had widely been seen as one of the three most powerful men in Nigeria and said to have the complete trust of Buhari.
No one goes to the President without the knowledge of his trusted chief of staff, infact the Nigeria’s government ministers and state governors had to learn to work by going through Kyari before getting to the ultimate “oga”.
For people like Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed sessesionist group, Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Abba Kyari will always be seen as president in disguise.
Nnamdi Kanu, in recent times has done everything within his power, and is still trying to make Nigerians believe that President Muhammadu Buhari, who was elected into office in 2015 was dead and that Abba Kyari was among the northern leader who Masterminded and replaced him with an impostor from Sudan, who he calls Jubril Al-Sudani.
But for people like Bashir Ahmad, the Personal Assistant on Media to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Abba Kyari will forever be remembered for his good deeds.
In a tribute posted on twitter in honor of the late chief of staff, Bashir Said;
Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, has died. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him the highest rank of Jannah. Allah ya jikan sa.
Completely out of any word, so devastating. It is indeed very hard on us, but I strongly believe that we all belong to Allah and to Him we shall return. May Allah accept Mallam Abba Kyari’s shahada, forgive all his shortcomings, and grant him Jannatul Firdausi.
It was Mallam Abba Kyari’s turn last night, my time and your time will definitely come no matter how long it may take. And none of us will be here and healthy in the next 150 years.
Abba Kyari certainly was one of the most misunderstood people in the history of Nigeria. Those who had the opportunity to know him personally will tell you how extremely a good person he was. A man of honor, will be remembered as someone who sacrificed his life for this country.
The late chief of staff Abba Kyari will be buried later today in Abuja according Islamic rites.
