Peter Mbah dismantles street barriers in Enugu
Enugu State new Governor, Peter Mbah, has ordered the removal of all unauthorized street barriers across the state.
Mbah signed an executive order on May 29, 2023, giving residents 100 days to remove the barriers. The order was issued in an effort to improve the free movement of people and goods in the state.
The Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA) began removing the barriers on Friday, June 2, 2023. The agency said it would continue to remove the barriers until all of them have been removed.
Mbah said he understands that some of the barriers were erected for security reasons, but he said the government will take other measures to ensure the safety of residents.
The removal of the street barriers is one of Mbah’s top priorities. He has said that he is committed to improving the lives ofk the people of Enugu and making the state a more prosperous place to live.
