Nigeria Immigration Service retrieves 106 permanent voters card from foreigners
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has retrieved not less than 106 Permanent Voter Cards from foreigners living in Kwara State.
The figures were revealed this Monday during an interview with the comptroller of NIS in the State, Aminu Shamsiddin with the News Agency of Nigeria.
Aminu Shamsiddin discloses that some foreigners were caught having Nigerian Permanent voters cards during the regular patrol by immigration officers with the Illorin metropolis of the state.
Furthermore, he remarked that most of these foreigners were youths, both males and females, from Niger Republic, Benin Republic, and Ghana that claimed that their landlords in their various residences encouraged them to get the PVCs and vote during the election, so as to increase the number of votes for their various candidates.”
However, Aminu said that the foreigners have been sensitized and some of the foreigners who had their cards returned them and traveled back to their various countries to return after the election exercise.
