Nigeria’s first lady Aisha Muhammadu Buhari have come under severe criticism from online social media trolls after sharing what have been labelled ‘fake news’ on her verified Instagram page on Tuesday morning (February 21).
Contrary to the February 16 mandate by the CBN to ONLY reissue and recirculate the old N200 banknotes as legal tender up to April 10, 2023, a new mandate was shared on the first lady’s page stating that the old N500 and N1000 notes should remain legal tender till May 1, 2023.
Debunking the news, the CBN shared another release, labelling the one shared by Aisha as ‘fake news’.
