The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have threatened to embark on strike action in June against the incoming administration of the President-elect Bola Tinubu over removal of fuel subsidy.
The two labour bodies, however, said the only condition not to go in strike is the revitalization of government refineries across the country and allowance of modular refineries.

According to the organized labour, the failure to do this, would bring it’s opposition to the subsidy removal and mobilize workers to protest against the decision.
President Muhammadu Buhari had stated that the subsidy on petrol would be removed before the end of his tenure on May 29, 2023.
