The house of the commander Afikpo-South Ebubeagu commander, Onyeku Kalu Chima was reportedly burnt. The said house is located at Owutu Edda community.
The ugly incident took place on 1 January 2023 at about 2:30 am. Aside from the house getting burnt, his wife- Urena Kalu Chima has been feared dead.
An eyewitness account said that she was shot dead.

Though the perpetrator of the incident has not been identified, Ebonyi State Police Command, which confirmed the incident said that the said Ebubeagu Commander alleged that it was one Okporie Ashango and his cohorts that did it.
Furthermore, “The Commissioner of Police in Ebonyi state, CP Aliyu Garba, has directed that immediate investigation be activated by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) to unravel those behind the crimes.
The murder of the Ebubeagu Commander‘s house at Owutu Edda community and the killing of his wife was a fallout of the killing of three persons last December at Ekoli-Edda community of Afikpo South LGA of Ebonyi.
