The former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan on his way from Nnamdi Azikiwe airport, on Wednesday, 6th April, 2022, got involved in an auto crash, which led to the death of his two aides.
Goodluck Jonathan is said to have survived the accident without any injury. In a statement released by his special adviser on Media and Publicity, Ikechukwu Eze said the former president was in deep mourning as he described the accident as painful and heart-rending.
The former president further revealed that two other officers who sustained injuries in the accident are now responding to treatment at the hospital. He further added that two of his aides who lost their lives in the accident were very good officers who were really dedicated to their duties and services to the nation.
Goodluck Jonathan has since, sent condolences to the bereaved families and also prayed that God would grant them eternal rest while giving their families the fortitude to bear the loss.
