Economic and financial crimes commission chairman- Abdulrasheed Bawa, stated that the proposed African vision (Agenda 2063) will be a mirage if corruption was not decisively dealt with in the African continent.
The EFCC Chairman acknowledged this at the virtual meeting of the 5th African Union Day of Anti-corruption with the theme;
“Regional Economic communities: Actors in the implementing of the African Union convention on prevention and combating corruption”.

The forty years old graduate of Usman Danfodio University Sokoto, has worked with the anti-graft agency for sixteen years and is a certified fraud examiner and anti-money laundering expert.
During his appointment, he promised that at the end of his tenure, that EFCC will be better. Drawing attention to his trainings by the FBI and National crime agency o the United States and United Kingdom.
The EFCC Chairman has vast experience and has been part of the prosecution of advanced fee fraud, official corruption, bank fraud, Money laundering and economic and financial related crimes offence.
