The 56-year-old politician and attorney stated in a message she passed via Twitter, that about 37 transgender people were killed in United States this year and majority of them were Black and Latinx.
“On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the memory of the at least 37 transgender or gender-nonconforming people killed this year—the majority of whom were Black and Latinx transgender women,” she wrote on Twitter.

Following that alarming state of homicide against such like ones, the Senator has vowed to see the end of that unlawful act.
“Today and every day we must recommit to ending this epidemic. #TDOR” she concluded.
