Recounting her ordeal, the nursing mother Asma’u Ahmad Tijjani, who is also a non-academic staff of Sokoto Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), told Daily Trust that she was shocked after learning what the nurse did to her newborn.
In her words she said;
“Immediately after my delivery, my nurse told me Folashade told her that I gave her a carryover.
I was shocked to hear this because I am not a teaching staff of the university and have no business with students’ scripts. So how could I give her a carryover?
When my husband came, Folashade came and collected my baby, saying she was taking it to him. After some minutes, she brought the baby back, and I noticed some blood coming out from her eyes, so I started crying and shouting.
The Nurse is currently cooling in Sokoto Correctional facility following her arraignment by the police.
