A 32-year-old man, Samuel Shegun, has been apprehended for the alleged murder of his mother, Esther Adekanla, 47, also known as Hadiza Nakowa, in Dutse town. The State Commissioner of Police, CP. AT Abdullahi, revealed that the police found Esther’s lifeless body in her home.
Following an investigation by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Samuel Shegun was arrested near Awajil Filling Station in Dutse. CP Abdullahi explained that the suspect was tracked through the victim’s phone number, linking him to the crime.

The incident came to light when neighbors reported Esther missing after not hearing from her for several days. Upon entering her locked house, authorities discovered Esther’s body in the sitting room, with visible wounds on her head and neck. Additionally, her 11-year-old house help, Christiana Michael, was found alive but unconscious in a locked store with head injuries.
