Federal Government behind Imo prison break, MASSOB alleges

Secessionist group, Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has accused the Federal Government of Nigeria of masterminding the recent attack on the police headquarter and prison in Owerri Imo State.

According to a report released in the official web page of Nigerian media outlet The Nation, MASSOB intelligence agency allegedly found out that the attack was sponsored and executed by FG through their protected militiamen called bandits and unknown gunmen.

MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu, alleged that the prison break  and attack was a strategy used by the current administration to discredit the pro Biafra groups.

He said it is impossible for untrained bandits to overpower the entire security of the South Eastern State.

“They want to create an erroneous impression that pro Biafra agitators have turned violent and militancy,” Uchenna Madu said in a statement on Tuesday.

“How can untrained and amateurs with no military training overpower the entire security apparatus of Nigeria in South East?”
