The Edo State Police Command has arrested one pastor Jeffery Ihievu, after he reportedly removed a pregnant woman’s underwear, anointed her private part and breasts in the name of deliverance.
It was gathered that the pastor with the Assemblies of God Church in Esan South East Local Government Area of the state was arrested after trouble broke out between him and the husband of the pregnant woman.
Reports had it that the husband of the pregnant woman did not take it lightly with pastor Jeffery Ihievu as he immediately handed him over to the Police for assault on his wife.
Pastor Jeffrey is currently cooling his heels at the State Police Command for allegedly using “anointing oil” on the private part of the pregnant woman.

This was disclosed by the State Police Command’s PPRO, SP Bello Kotongs, who confirmed the incident but did not give further details because the matter was undergoing investigation.
Pastor Jeffrey reportedly anointed the woman (name withheld) in the church premises “for safe delivery”.
However, trouble started after there was reported complication in the woman’s pregnancy to the effect that the conception had exceeded 10 months.
The house wife was said to have then disclosed the “spiritual exercise” with Pastor Jeffrey to her husband, a development that angered the husband.
It was gathered that the woman’s husband thereafter reported the matter to the Police and Pastor Jeffrey was arrested and detained for interrogation.
He reportedly confirmed his encounter with the married woman. However, he said he was not responsible for complications in the pregnancy.
According to him, “Some people brought the woman to me and she told me her problem. I told her I will anoint her private part and breasts because her problem was spiritual”.
“And after the anointing, I laid my hand on both parts of her body and prayed. The woman did not remove her pant and bra; I only shifted the underwear and the bra” he said.
On whether the “spiritual exercise” was biblical, the clergyman was said to have referred interrogators to the book of Mark 6: 13 and James 5:16 in the Bible.
But the woman’s husband insisted that the Pastor was behind their predicament and he should be prosecuted for his action by anointing his wife on the private part, which he said has caused delay in her delivery.
