President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mr. Semiu Adeyemi Aderisan as the new Statistician-General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
This is following the demise of Simon Harry, the former Statistician-General of the Federation on April 13 2022.

Before his new appointment, Mr. Aderisan was the Director of Demographic and Household Statistics at the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
Mr. Aderisan has over thirty years of statistical experience which he got from various international and local institutions.
