The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has disclosed that 2,780,756 ineligible registrants were identified at the end of the Automated Biometric Identification System exercise.
The new Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kano, Zango Abdu said the preliminary register of voters in Kano state currently stands at 5,927,565.
He further added that at the end of the identification exercise, 12,298,944 Nigerians successfully completed the registration as new voters.
In conclusion, he asserted that incident form would not be allowed, and at such, it will be highly impossible for ineligible persons to vote using other person’s Permanent Voters Card (PVC) during elections.
