Dr. Abdulkarim, a relation of an 85-year-old woman who was abducted during the attack, disclosed that the bandits said the attack was meant to teach El-Rufai a lesson. He quoted what the bandits said. He said that the bandits have said, “the State Governor has been running his mouth and that was why they came to his doorstep”.
Abdulkarim also added that the bandits had told him that the attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train was just the beginning.
Furthermore, Dr. Attah whose sister was also among the abductees claimed he spoke to the bandits about eleven times and they stated the same reason for their actions.
Recall that the federal government has refused to give in to the demands of the bandits, thereby leaving the fate of those abducted unknown. It is believed that the bandits are holding over a hundred passengers captive from the Abuja-Kaduna train attack.
