Prince Arthur Eze, a prominent figure in the oil industry and a philanthropist, has given a check worth N100 million to Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the leading Igbo socio-cultural organization. This generous contribution fulfills his earlier promise to support Ohanaeze Ndigbo, as stated by Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze.
According to the statement, Prince Eze, CEO of Atlas Oranto Petroleum Ltd., expressed his concern that the current President General of Ohanaeze, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, should not bear the financial burden of funding the organization from his personal funds. Prince Eze acknowledged Chief Iwuanyanwu’s significant contributions to the Igbo community, dating back to the war times.
The statement also highlighted Prince Eze’s admiration for Chief Iwuanyanwu’s vision of transforming the Igbo land using its natural resources and creative potentials. Prince Eze expressed his support for Chief Iwuanyanwu’s dynamic leadership, aiming to elevate Ohanaeze to a respected position that garners the loyalty and support of all Igbo people, both within and outside Nigeria.
Describing Prince Eze’s actions as an inspiring display of charity and a reminder to those who prioritize their self-interest, the statement praised his philanthropic endeavors. Chief Iwuanyanwu lauded Prince Eze as a trailblazer and a compassionate individual who consistently demonstrates empathy, affection, and kindness towards his fellow Igbo.
Ohanaeze expressed its gratitude to Prince Eze and other generous individuals who have supported the organization. The statement acknowledged the donations of seats to the Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Secretariat, the provision of space during a visit to Lagos, and a hosted dinner by various philanthropists. Additionally, the statement mentioned former Governor Sen. Rochas Okorocha’s ongoing project at the Secretariat.
Furthermore, the statement expressed appreciation to Imo State Governor Sen. Hope Uzodimma for his continuous support, noting that while in the Senate, he was the only Igbo senator who extended assistance to Ohanaeze.
The statement concluded by announcing that a comprehensive list of all benefactors would be made public at an appropriate time.
