In addition to Merino’s setback, Arsenal confirmed that goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has completed a permanent transfer to Southampton. Ramsdale, who joined Arsenal in 2021, made 89 appearances and was a key player in their 2023 FA Community Shield victory. He was also voted into the PFA Team of the Year for the 2022/23 season, playing every minute of the Premier League campaign. Ramsdale’s departure marks the end of a successful stint at Arsenal, where he also earned recognition with the Premier League Save of the Month award twice in 2023.
