The APC Professionals Council expressed unwavering support for Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, hailing his integrity and extensive track record of excellence. The council’s endorsement came as a response to a group’s accusatory remarks, branding Gbajabiamila as displaying bias in ministerial and government official appointments.
Seyi Bamigbade, the National Director General of the APC Professionals Council, conveyed this stance during a visit to Fuad Laguda, a contender for Surulere 1 Federal Constituency in Lagos. Bamigbade emphasized that President Bola Tinubu holds the authority to select his team members and called for those accusing Gbajabiamila to channel their concerns appropriately.
Bamigbade found it disturbing that an unidentified group, purportedly supportive of the APC, was leveling allegations against Femi Gbajabiamila for their perceived exclusion in ministerial appointments. He reminded the critics that the power to appoint rests with President Bola Tinubu and questioned the origins and motivations of the faceless group.
He affirmed that the APC Professionals Council trusts that the government will remain focused despite distractions. He highlighted Gbajabiamila’s history of integrity during his tenure as Minority Leader, Majority Leader, and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
With Femi Gbajabiamila resigning from the Surulere 1 Federal Constituency position to become Chief of Staff, preparations were underway to fill the vacant seat. Bamigbade endorsed Kayode Laguda as a capable candidate, citing his potential to provide effective representation for the constituency if elected to the House of Representatives in the upcoming bye election.
