APC kicks against LP, PDP, and ADC over call for resignation of INEC Chairman
The All Progressive Congress kicks against the call by stakeholders of Labor Party, Peoples Democratic Party, and African Democratic Congress over the resignation of INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu.
Festus Keyamo, The APC campaign Council spokesman, said it was “legally wrong” to call for the change of the electoral process when final results have not even been declared.
He also added that calling on the President, Mohammadu Buhari to interfere in the electoral process was out of the law, saying that it was only the election tribunal that could interfere with the process.
The APC PCC thereby asked the aggrieved parties to approach the court if they had cases.
Also, the APC presidential campaign council in a counter press conference on Tuesday, shortly after the opposition parties’ news briefing, affirmed that the presidential and National Assembly elections held on Saturday were credible enough.
Recall, that LP PDP and ADC had demanded for fresh election and asked the INEC Chairman to step down over allegations of violence, rigging and intimidation of voters on election day.
