No fewer than 64 persons have reportedly sustained serious injuries in a fuel tanker explosion in Kano on Saturday evening.
According to Daily Trust, the tanker exploded into flames while offloading fuel at the Al-Hisan filing station at Ali Gusau Street, Sharada area of Kano State.
Those affected by the explosion includes the personnel of the Kano State Fire Service who had responded to the distress call and many onlookers who had gathered to observe what was happening, before the tanker eventually exploded.

Kano State Fire Service spokesperson, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, confirmed that 8 personnel of the Fire Service were part of the 64 victims, but no loss of life have been recorded.
